Start or Join with a Webex Meeting Room

This feature allows you to connect the Webex Room Unit you are sitting in with your Webex Desktop App on your computer.

 

  1. Before you Start or Join the Webex meeting, look to see if your Webex Desktop App has the room connected. If you see “Connect to a device” available, proceed to step #2.  If the room is already connected, proceed to step #5.

  1. Click on “Connect to device” to start looking for nearby Webex devices. If the Webex Room appears in the search list, click on it to select it.

  1. If the Webex room does not appear in the list, click on “Search for or call a video system”.

  1. Type in the name of the Webex Room you are sitting in. You can find the Webex Room name at the top right on the Webex navigator tablet.  When the room appears, click on it to select it.

  1. You will now see the room connected to your Webex Desktop App on your computer.

  1. Click the Join with device

  1. You are now in your meeting with the Webex Room as your video and audio sources.

  1. If you have other colleagues in the room with you, they can also join the Webex meeting with their computer’s Webex Desktop App and connect with the room. This is done to avoid audio feedback while in the same room.
